Make the most of your time
this tax season
It’s that time of year again!
Tax season is always busy for insurance agents. Many customers use a portion of their tax return to purchase an insurance policy, resulting in a spike in business for Sagamore, and especially for our valued agents.
Your schedule is probably much more hectic and stressful right now than it is during other months of the year. Sagamore Insurance Company understands this and we want to assist you in any way we can. We encourage you to use us a resource as often as you need. Please feel free to contact our marketing, underwriting or claims department with questions that may arise.
To help you reduce your level of stress, we would also like to provide you with suggestions to improve your efficiency and effectiveness. We hope these tips will help you maximize the time you have available during this busy time of year.

6 Successful Time Management Strategies
- Make a to-do list and prioritize your tasks. By looking at the overall picture of what you hope to accomplish, you can get a valuable perspective on what you need to do and how important each small goal is in relation to other items on the list.
- Choose your battles wisely. Some individuals are naturally compelled to take on unachievable workloads. It is important to admit that you can’t do everything yourself. Delegate what you can and dismiss non-essential tasks. You will thank yourself later.
- Don’t put off any small task that can be completed in five minutes or less. These tasks, however minor individually, can accumulate over the course of a day or week and because daunting. Take care of small tasks when they arise and you will feel much more control over your work load.
- Produce quality work. Take the time you need to complete tasks well the first time so that you will not need to revisit them to make corrections or fix errors later. Knowing that you are always doing your best will not only provide a sense of pride in your work, but will help keep your stress level to a minimum.
- Set goals and reward yourself for completing them. If you have a large project or a series of small projects to complete, set a time for completion. This can help motivate you to get there. If you complete it on time, great; reward yourself with a quick stretch break, drink or snack. If you do not complete the task by the time you had hoped, re-evaluate and set a new realistic completion goal to work toward.
- Be flexible. Interruptions are common occurrences in most jobs. While this can be frustrating, learn to expect these breaks in your day so that you do not become stressed in response. If you become distracted while working on one project, use the opportunity to work on another project as a break. This may allow you to refocus on the original task.
